Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Styleaidr ("we", "us", "our") operates the styleaidr.ca platform, a multi-tenant salon booking service that connects customers with independent salons across Canada. By accessing or using the Styleaidr platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Platform" — the Styleaidr website, including styleaidr.ca and all salon subdomains (e.g., yoursalon.styleaidr.ca)
  • "Tenant" / "Salon Owner" — a business that uses Styleaidr to manage bookings and operations
  • "Staff" — individuals invited by a Salon Owner to access the platform
  • "Customer" / "Client" — any person who books an appointment through a salon's booking page

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province) to create a salon account. Customers of any age may book appointments, but minors should have parental or guardian consent.

4. Account Responsibilities

4.1 Salon Owners & Staff

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete business information
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must not share your login credentials with unauthorized individuals

4.2 Customers

  • You must provide accurate contact information (name, email, phone) when booking
  • You are responsible for attending or cancelling booked appointments in a timely manner

5. Platform Services

Styleaidr provides salon owners with:

  • Online appointment booking and scheduling
  • Client and staff management tools
  • Email and SMS booking notifications
  • Business analytics and reporting

Styleaidr provides customers with:

  • The ability to discover and search for salons
  • Online appointment booking without requiring an account
  • Booking confirmation and reminder notifications

6. Booking & Cancellation Policies

  • Each salon sets its own cancellation policies, including cancellation cut-off times
  • Customers may cancel bookings using the cancellation link provided in their confirmation email
  • Styleaidr facilitates the booking process but is not a party to the agreement between the salon and the customer
  • Salon owners are responsible for honouring confirmed appointments

7. Fees & Payments

  • Styleaidr is currently offered free of charge to salon owners during the platform's growth phase
  • We reserve the right to introduce paid plans (e.g., Pro, Enterprise) in the future with advance notice
  • Payment processing for salon services occurs directly between the salon and the customer — Styleaidr does not process payments for appointments

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems
  • Submit false, misleading, or spam content
  • Interfere with the platform's operation or other users' access
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the platform without permission
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited communications

9. Intellectual Property

  • The Styleaidr platform, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Styleaidr and protected by Canadian intellectual property laws
  • Salon owners retain ownership of their business content (logos, descriptions, images) uploaded to the platform
  • By uploading content, salon owners grant Styleaidr a non-exclusive licence to display that content on the platform

10. Data & Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Salon owners act as data controllers for their clients' booking information. All data is stored securely with encryption at rest and in transit.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Styleaidr is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Styleaidr is not responsible for the quality of services provided by salons
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Styleaidr shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Styleaidr in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $100 CAD if no fees were paid)

12. Termination

  • Salon owners may request account closure at any time by contacting us
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, all associated data will be deleted within 90 days, consistent with our Privacy Policy

13. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
